OVERVIEW
Picked this up to use with a portable 4500 PSI compressor and a universal in-line filter to pump up an Umarex Gauntlet PCP air rifle and a .45L 4500 PSI tank. I get about 4 to 6 top offs from 1500 to 3000 psi before I need to switch out the desiccant in the filer. I’ve only reactivated desiccant a couple of times, both in the microwave. There is a little residue left in the bowl that I used. I have not tried to reactivate using a stove set at 200 F for ½ to 2 hours as the instructions suggest. My guess is that is probably less harsh on the desiccant.
PROS
►Does a good job at removing moisture
►Reactivates as describes
►The container for the beads arrive in is sturdy
CONS
►It’s kind of pricey, especially considering I didn’t need two lbs of it.
►Microwaving to reactivate it seems to damage the desiccant slightly (might need to play with the power settings, longer for lower power)
►The beads go everywhere
RECOMMENDATION
I LB for $10 would have better matched my needs. You need a couple of funnels in order to transfer them from most containers, either to use them in the process to remove moisture, to transfer them for reactivation, or to transfer them from reactivation back to the original container they came in. You absolutely need a desiccant if you are going to fill a PCP gun/tank, these fit the bill
